HMS Endurance Talk and Helicopter Visit
Just before half term we were very lucky to be visited by Captain Tarrant and some of the crew of HMS Endurance and one of the ship's helicopters.

Captain Tarrant spoke to the whole school for just over half an hour to explain what the Royal Navy, and HMS Endurance in particular, did when they visited Antarctica.
With superb photographs and a display of equipment from HMS Endurance Captain Tarrant was able to enlighten us all at to what life was like in Antarctica; the wildlife one meets, the weather one has to endure and the fantastic and awe-inspiring scenery. |

After break the school gathered to see one of HMS Endurance's two helicopters land on the first team cricket pitch in front of the school. Once all was safe then the children were able to climb on board and see what the helicopter was like up close.
Our thanks to Captain Tarrant and his crew for such an interesting and exciting visit and we wish them well on their next tour of duty.
