Introduction to Science

The aim of the Science Department at Highfield is to create an enthusiasm for Science in a secure, creative and stimulating learning environment to enable pupils to achieve their academic potential. We teach through multi-sensory learning, taking full advantage of the variety of learning resources available in the department.

Science is taught in the two well-equipped laboratories, with a brand new third Science lab being built this Summer. Lessons are always varied and include discussion, experiments, hypotheses, results and conclusions. Our main aim is to introduce children to core Science concepts to prepare them for examinations. In the summer months we can often be found working outside in the extensive grounds Highfield School has to offer.
