The Junior Boarding House

Junior Boarding House

The Junior Boarding House, is home to boarding children in Years Three to Five.  Situated just a stone's throw from the main school building, the children enjoy all the benefits of the whole school boarding community while living in a small, self-contained environment.

Mr & Mrs Hesselmann with Pippa & Samuel

Mr & Mrs Hesselmann, along with Pippa, Samuel and the cats (Bicky and Bundle),  share the Junior Boarding House with Boarders from Years 3 - 5.

There are currently 8 Junior Boarders. Of these 4 are boys and 4 are girls and looking at the Year Groups; 3 are in Year 4 and 5 are in Year 5.

Miss Carter (Junior House Matron), Mrs Henderson (Maths Teacher) and Mr Le Heup (French Teacher) help the Hesselmanns look after the children.

Mrs Dunne (School Nurse) visits the house each evening to see the children and attend to their medical needs.

Junior House Barbers

On 2 evenings a week there is a Junior Boarding House Activity after school. This allows the children to come back to the house to chill out if they don't wish to participate in one of the many other after school clubs on offer to boarders and day children alike.

The dormitories are named after artists. The names were chosen by the children and are Turner, Monet, Picasso and Matisse. The Hesselmann's flat is Kandinsky and the Common Room is known as Escher.

Continuing the artisic theme are the rewards and sanctions schemes. Good behaviour is rewarded by the award of a work of art, dorm tidiness is rewarded by the award of a paint brush to go by the easle on the dorm's door and poor behaviour is marked with the award of a splat. At the end of each half term prizes are awarded for the winners of the works of art and paint brushes.
