Once again the competition was strong. The range of poetry and performances, from sombre to funny, kept the audience gripped and reflected the effort that was put in, not only by the finalists, but by the whole school in preparation for this event.
Mr Oliver's thoughtful and encouraging comments allowed each competitor to take something positive from the event, as well as offering advice for them and the audience to consider.
In the end, Sam Vernor-Miles was chosen as best in the school for his humorous rendition of ‘The Worst Excuses in the World' by Clare Bevan. Every performer's score was totalled towards the House Competition; the winning House this year was Waterloo.
