RECORD BREAKING SCHOLARSHIP SUCCESS FOR HIGHFIELD SCHOOL PUPILS
A record breaking group of Year 8 pupils at Highfield School certainly have something to celebrate as the Scholarship season draws to a close. 15 Year 8 pupils have between them secured 16 major Scholarships and Awards to their Senior Schools, for academic, artistic and sporting excellence, breaking the School's previous record of 11 Awards set only last year.
Headmaster, Phillip Evitt, commented, ‘We always knew they were a talented year group with great potential, but they have really excelled themselves. I am absolutely delighted for them and very proud of their achievement'. Perhaps most remarkable was the performance of seven of the pupils competing for awards to Wellington College, all seven were successful. It certainly impressed the Master of Wellington, Dr Anthony Seldon who passed on his congratulations to the children on their ‘outstanding' and ‘remarkable' success.
