Scholars' Trip to Cornwall 2008
The Scholars have returned from a successful trip to Cornwall having enjoyed a visit to the Eden Project, body boarding, a morning of surf lessons and an afternoon of Sea Kayaking
Monday:
Having said farewell and good luck to the CE candidates the Scholars loaded up the cars and headed off for Trelights near Polzeath. Traffic was good and with only a brief stop on the way we arrived at our base, around lunch time.
After a quick unpack and refreshment break at the house it was down to the beach for a body boarding session in the sea.
Tuesday:
The day started with full English breakfast and packed lunch production before heading off for the Eden Project.
After our tour of the Eden Project it was off to Padstow (Padstine) for some retail therapy. Back at the house it was a quick change before heading back down to the beach for an 1 1/2 body boarding session, with some rather large waves!
Wednesday
A Full English breakfast was an essential start for today with 2 hours of surf lessons ahead of us and the Scholars made sure their tanks were well and truely full.
Down on the beach we met our instructor (Matt) He did a superb job and not long after getting into the water a number of the group were up and surfing as if born with a board attached to their feet.
The afternoon saw us take on Sea Kayaking with Sam and Dill. We all had an awesome time and they had several games ready for us to play. It soon became apparent that the best game was capsizing ones own kayak and then going over to capsize the others!
Thursday:
Sadly, all good things come to an end and it was time to pack everything into the cars, clean the house and say goodbye to Cornwall. After a leisurely breakfast it was a quick trip back to the beach so Mr Dunn could hit some final waves. A thoughly relaxing time had by all.
So the Sholars' Trip is over for another year with everyone returned safely and hopefully a little wiser than they were before.
