Boarders Trip to Marwell Activity Centre

On Sunday 14th September, thirteen boarders experienced an alternative natural beauty spot of pure mud and water at Marwell Activity Centre.

First of all the children were introduced to the art of raft building.  With just four barrels, two ropes and two wooden poles, the children were shown how to make an ‘indestructible' raft.  The completed raft was then transported to the water and boarded, first by the boys team and then by the girls team.

Both teams made it successfully across the lake before they were challenged, by the instructors, to stand-up and sing ‘Heads, shoulders, knees and toes' with actions!  All seemed to be going remarkably well until Simon's team destroyed their raft to ensure that all of the remaining, dry and chuckling, crew joined the unfortunate few in the lake!

After a quick pit stop, the children headed up to the top field for a crash course (excuse the pun) in Quad Biking.  Initially the scream decibel level drowned out the Quad bikes engines but before long they were fully engrossed in racing a partner around the muddy course.  Jessie and Dora set new records for the greatest number of rescues required!

Overall, a fantastic day was had by all with the overall conclusion being, ‘Pleeeeeeeeease can we do it again.'
