Highfield Head

Director of Marketing and Enterprise

We’re in search of a passionate and driven Director of Marketing and Enterprise to lead the Marketing and Enterprise team and raise the profile of Highfield and Brookham Schools across multiple online and offline platforms.  We are looking to appoint a dynamic, creative and highly organised individual who will quickly understand and embrace our DNA.  Someone who is passionate about what we do and can channel our vibrancy and heart effectively across all media.

As Director of Marketing and Enterprise you will lead a team of four responsible for generating interest and leads for both schools, to increase admissions.  Additionally, you will be responsible for developing relations with key stakeholders to assist with fundraising, and the marketing and promotion of key events throughout the year.

Over time, the Schools have developed a number of ancillary (non-fee income) revenue streams – Highfield School of Swimming, International Summer School, Pavilion Café, Saturday at Brookham, All-Weather Pitch lettings etc.  As Director of Enterprise you will have strategic oversight of these ancillary sources of revenue and be responsible for ensuring that we promote them effectively and optimise them in a coherent, thought-through fashion.

Key skills/qualifications/experience:

  • Good honours degree and CIM qualifications or similar or proven experience
  • 3 years minimum experience in marketing and business development / enterprise
  • Broad knowledge of all areas of marketing including advertising, press, social media, SEO, PPC, design and persuasive writing
  • Recent, proven expertise and experience in digital and content marketing
  • Excellent organisational and event management skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and tailor messages for different target markets
  • Strong copywriting and proofreading editorial skills
  • A good team player with excellent communication skills and good humour
  • Results and deadline driven and able to work under pressure
  • Belief in the benefits of independent education
  • Willingness and flexibility to work some evenings and weekends

Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 dependent on qualifications and experience.

This role is based in Liphook, Hampshire.  You will play a key role in the Senior Management Team  and will report to the Headteachers and Chairman. You will be responsible for managing a team of four staff. This is a full-time role, working all year round.

Nursery Assistants

We are looking to recruit highly motivated, flexible and committed individuals to join our team and support us in our mission to provide our Nursery children with the very best start to their educational journey. You will assist the teacher with the day-to-day running of provision; ensuring the children’s happiness, general welfare and safety are maintained to the highest standard. You will assist with the planning, preparation and delivery of activities devised to meet children’s developmental needs and observe children and record these observations using the school’s tracking documents and systems.

Maintenance Technician

We are a seeking a full-time maintenance technician with experience in planned and reactive maintenance to join a busy team that maintains our school buildings, a swimming pool and a number of estate properties to the highest possible standard.

You will be required to undertake:

  • Reactive maintenance
  • Emergency light testing
  • Biomass heating system maintenance
  • Decorating
  • Legionella water monitoring
  • Minor Plumbing
  • Gutter Cleaning
  • Other minor works

You must be able to work as part of a team but equally confident to work independently and have good organisational skills. The ability to communicate well and interact politely with staff, pupils, suppliers and visitors is essential. We offer training, a good salary dependent on experience and benefits including company pension scheme, free parking and lunches during term-time.

Salary: £21,000 - £25,000 (dependant on experience)

A valid UK driving licence is required.

Cleaners

We are looking for Cleaners to join our cleaning team to carry out general cleaning duties across the school:-

There is one morning role available, working from 6.00 am to 11.00 am, Monday to Friday with some Saturday work on a rota basis. £11.00 per hour (including holiday pay) and two evening roles from 4.30 pm to 9.00 pm, Monday to Friday with some Saturday work on a rota basis. £12.00 per hour (including holiday pay).

Both roles continue throughout the school holidays.

Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential.

The successful candidates need to be flexible with a good work ethic.

Level 2 Swimming Teacher

We are looking for a friendly, energetic and passionate swim teacher to join our popular, highly regarded Swim School, offering lessons to children aged 4yrs and over in our warm, clean 20m pool. Candidates should be qualified to SEQ Level 2/STA Level 2 and have at least 3 years experience of teaching all abilities, from beginners to advanced swimmers.

The role will involve teaching children both in the water and from poolside and candidates must be familiar with the Swim England Learn to Swim and Ducklings Curriculums.

The hours available are term time only and are shown below, however if candidates can only do some of these hours, we would still like to hear from you. Additional hours are also available in the holidays.

Wednesday 3:45 – 7pm

Thursday 3:45 – 6:15pm

Friday 3:45 – 7pm

Saturday 8am - 12pm 

Start Date: 6th September 2021

Rate of pay: starting at £18.77 per hour

Girls' Games Coach

We are seeking to employ a suitably qualified Girls’ Games Coach to offer coaching in Hockey and Netball and the ability to coach Girls’ Cricket and Lacrosse could be an advantage.

The role involves up to 10 hours, five afternoons a week, including Saturdays. The successful candidate will be required to supervise their teams on match afternoons from 2.15 pm on Wednesdays and Saturdays at both home and away fixtures and coach them on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays from 3.15 pm to 4.30 pm.

The working hours on Wednesdays and Saturdays will depend on whether fixtures are home or away.

Cleaning Supervisor

Highfield and Brookham Schools are looking to recruit a Cleaning Supervisor to organise and supervise the Cleaning Team to ensure that all areas of the schools are cleaned to the high standards that we pride ourselves upon.

This is a hands-on cleaning role working alongside the rest of the team, so previous cleaning experience is necessary, as is experience of supervising a team. The successful candidate will be reliable and flexible, with a good work ethic, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will need to be able to work under pressure, have an eye for detail, take pride in your work and have a “can do” attitude.

A working knowledge of the Health and Safety measures required and experience of using cleaning machinery and products are essential.

Hours of work are from 1.00 pm to 9.00 pm Monday to Friday, with some Saturday work on a rota basis. The role continues throughout the school holidays.

Rate of pay is £13.00 per hour including holiday pay.
