A week in the life of our Year 2 children
Year 2 have been busy learning their new text 'The Way Back Home'.
They have picture planned it, thought of actions and are now proficient at telling the story with expression and enthusiasm! They have been discussing what they like and dislike about the story and have identified the five part story structure.
During their outdoor learning time, they hunted for sticks that were 25cm long. This encouraged much discussion about how much longer a stick needed to be if they found one that was too short and how much they would need to snap off if it was too long. They then attached the sticks together using rubber bands to create a triangle. This skill of stretching and twisting the bands to create tension was tricky. They helped each other tie knots and then wove wool around the structure. They are now the perfect weaving looms for our activity next week.
