We caught up with Old Highfieldian Charles Cadell on life since leaving Highfield.
I am currently living in Tokyo and covering the Asia Pacific region from it. A long road since leaving Highfield that took me to Cranleigh, Manchester University to study Literature and then to join an advertising Agency in London called Leo Burnett. But my true passion is travel and four years later, some 26 years ago I was transferred to Thailand and Asia became my new home. Since then I have lived in Vietnam, Burma, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Malaysia, Mumbai, Singapore and now Japan. Spending about three years in each country leading Agency groups and now running all of Asia for an Agency called McCann Worldgroup.
England now seems a long way away. I married a Belgium, had two sons born in Malaysia (now at school in Oundle) so our family is thoroughly confused as to what is and where is that place called home. Nonetheless, of all of Asia our hearts are closest to a life in Sri Lanka where we built a boutique beach hotel resort which provides for an alluring future.
