'Michelin Star' Fine Dining
A 'Michelin Star' Fine Dining experience courtesy of the Year 7 Cookery Club
Year 7 pupils in Cookery Club hosted a delightful, candlelit feast for their parents, friends and several staff and teachers. All pupils prepared a variety of mouth watering canapés including: moreish blue stilton and chutney tarts, mini crackers topped with beetroot puree, sautéed mushrooms and a sprig of dill, smoked salmon swirled over a dollop of crème fraiche and resting on a slice of refreshing cucumber, to name only a few, and all served with a glass of bubbly. All of the canapés not only tasted delicious but also looked like miniature works of art!
This was followed by a stunning savoury and flaky ham and cheese quiche and salad starter led by Chef Darcey Moulton. The main course, led by Chef Tilly Green, consisted of golden roast chicken, with scrumptious sides of mash and broccoli. Elegant chocolate and orange profiteroles, led by Chef Kitty Harriss, were next for pudding, which we all managed to somehow find room for! Everything on the menu was presented beautifully and delivered with poise and grace. It was a wonderful experience for everyone involved. Well done to all of our talented Chefs: Darren Cheung, Tilly Green, Mariella Langtry, Bea Barnsdale Ward, Kitty Harriss and Darcey Moulton.
I am sure their families and friends will be booking them in to cater for their events in future! In fact, it would be a real mistake not to. A huge thank you to our Master Chefs Nadine and Helen who guided and led this fabulous team from 4pm on the day! They all made it look so effortless. A really fabulous, ambient evening enjoyed by all!
